The Police department brought forth a request to test for the position in April 2OL7 and noted that candidates would be tested in an assessment center format. In concert with the department and our consultants from PublicSafetyTesting, Inc., we have decided to go with a different format of testing due to the small number of applications that were received. Instead of a full assessment center, which requires upwards of 15 assessors from outside agencies, we will be conducting a Supervisory Skills and Abilities promotional test (SSAPT). The SSAPT is a 3-part event where each candidate spends 6O minutes before a panel of assessors and experiences mini-exercises, all in one sitting. Candidates will be rated on up to five of the following dimensions: oral communication, interpersonal insight, problem analysis, judgment, decisiveness, planning & organization, and delegation & control. Candidates have already attended a workshop that outlines the process, I request that you make a motion to amend the previous request to test and that the department use the Supervisory Skills and Abilities Promotional Test format for the Corrections Sergeant promotional exam.
