2. Roll Call
Kyle Applebury, Craig Fuller, Andrew Sobczyk, Brandon Swanson, and Dmitriy
Zhuravel were absent.
3. Approval of Minutes
Nick Swan moved and Karen Chandler seconded that the minutes of the meeting
dated September 25, 2017 be approved; the motion was carried unanimously.
4. Added Items
Hayley Bonsteel discussed comments submitted by Melvin Roberts on the Meet Me
on Meeker (MMoM) project. There will be a public hearing on November 27, 2017,
at which she will report, on the record, on any such comments received. The Board
asked about the extent to which MMoM fits within the Board’s strategic goal of an
East-West Connector. Hayley requested that she receive final comments from the
Board no later than November 20, 2017, so that she can include and summarize
them. Several Board members discussed the need for MMoM to fit within the East-
West Connector project and their desire that the Board’s approved comments on
MMoM reflect this. Hayley also spoke about conversations the City has had with
King County Parks about possibly providing resources to provide cycling
connections to the downtown Transit Center.
The Board discussed MMoM in more detail and the extent to which the Board’s
strategic goals fit with the top-level goals of the MMoM project. The Board agreed to
work together on a consensus response to the City on MMoM, and further that any
Board members with additional or differing input provide such input as a private
citizen. Rich Davis volunteered to lead the effort of drafting this response, and all
Board members will provide input to him via e-mail by November 6, 2017.

5. Strategic Priorities
The Board examined and discussed maps of cycling infrastructure in Kent. Several
members expressed the opinion that much of the basic work for an East-West
Connector is already in place, and that the Board needs to focus on improving upon
and connecting existing sections.
6. Adjournment
At 7:00 PM, Melvin Roberts declared the meeting adjourned.
