4. Approval of Minutes dated June 12, 2018
MOTION: Move to approve the Minutes dated June 12, 2018
RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

5. School Zone Traffic Safety Camera Contract
Chief Padilla and Commander Durham requested authorizing the Mayor to
approve adding two school zone traffic safety cameras. The schools that have
been chosen are Meadow Ridge Elementary (27710 108th Ave SE) and
Springbrook Elementary (20035 100th Ave SE) as they are the two with the
highest number of speeding violations according to the speed study. The
other four school zone traffic safety cameras have notably decreased the
number of infractions since being installed.
MOTION: Authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract or contract
amendment with American Traffic Solutions for the addition of
Meadow Ridge Elementary and Springbrook Elementary to the school
zone traffic safety cameras, subject to final terms and conditions
acceptable to the city attorney and police chief.

6. Red Light Camera Feasibility Study with American Traffic Solutions
Chief Padilla requested authorizing American Traffic Solutions to conduct a
study of various traffic sites to determine whether the installation of a red
light camera system is feasible.
MOTION: Recommend Council authorize American Traffic Solutions to
conduct a study and analysis of various traffic sites identified by the Kent
Police Department, to determine whether the installation of a red light
camera system is feasible.
RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

7. Chief's Update
Chief Padilla explained that on the 4th of July there were less calls and no
major injuries or fires this year.
