Call to Order Chair Toni Troutner called the meeting to order at 4:43 p.m. 2. Roll Call Chair Toni Troutner – Present Council President Bill Boyce – Present Councilmember Les Thomas had an excused absence. 3. Changes to the Agenda Chief Thomas indicated there were no changes to the agenda. 4. Approval of Minutes dated February 13, 2018. Council President Boyce moved to approve the Public Safety Committee minutes dated March 13, 2018, second by Troutner. The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 2-0. 5. Chief’s Report – Information Only Chief Thomas provided information on the patrol car take home program. Details were provided regarding approximate costs for the take home program vs. the use of fleet vehicles. Thomas presented research on surrounding jurisdictions that have implemented a take home program in addition to detailing the impacts to city campus parking, and the headquarters space efficiencies that would happen. Thomas indicated the take home program would be beneficial for recruitment incentives and overall cost savings. Boyce asked the Chief to return to a future meeting to provide further information, so the committee could make an informed decision. Troutner reminded everyone that received a ballot for the April 24th special election, to read the voter’s pamphlet and to vote by April 24, 2018. 6. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m. by T.
