Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4 p.m., with Lew Sellers presiding. 2. Roll Call Mike Miller was absent 3. Changes to the Agenda Item #7 was removed and the speaker for Item #8 was changed to Kurt Hanson. Randall Smith moved to approve the agenda as amended, seconded by Carmen Goers. The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 4-0. 4. Approval of Minutes dated October 26, 2017 Jeff Piecewicz MOVED to approve the minutes dated October 26, 2017, and seconded by Randall Smith. Excused Absence for Mike Miller Randall Smith MOVED to approve the excused absence for Mike Miller, and Jeff Piecewicz SECONDED the motion. The Motion passed unanimously with a vote of 4-0. 6. Nomination and Election of Officers Jeff Piecewicz MOVED to open the floor for nominations, seconded by Randall Smith. Randall Smith moved to approve the current slate of officers: Mike Miller, Chair, Jeff Piecewicz, Vice Chair, and Lew Sellers, Secretary, for the 2018 year, seconded by Carmen Goers. The Motion passed unanimously with a vote of 4-0. 7. Finance Reports A. accesso ShoWare Center. Arletta Voter, SMG Finance Director, provided details of the accesso ShoWare Center Income Statement for the quarter ending December 31, 2017, including direct event income, ancillary income, other event income, other operating income, indirect expenses, net income from operations, admission tax, and net income. Tim Higgins provided a detailed review of the 2018 budget and responded to board member’s questions regarding the proposed net loss from operations. Tim also reviewed the 2009-2017 net revenue, total operating expenses, repair, maintenance and supplies, food & beverage sales and expenses, number of concerts and corresponding net revenue and the number of events. Carmen Goers MOVED to approve the financial report as submitted and Jeff Piecewicz SECONDED the motion. The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 4-0. 8. Operations Update a/b. General Manager/Marketing Update. Tim Higgins, SMG General Manager, advised that the first quarter of 2018 is looking to be the best quarter ever. There are eight confirmed shows with the potential to add four more through April. Tim advised of the increased security initiatives that have been implemented in all SMG facilities. Tim indicated there are more maintenance and general expenses due to the age of the building and the increase in use. Page 2 of 4 Public Facilities District Board Regular Meeting January 25, 2018 Minutes Kent, Washington Pending Approval Erin Buck, Director of Sales and Marketing, provided the Public Facilities District marketing update, including total attendance, website traffic, social media activity, and email marketing. Erin Buck reviewed highlights of recent events, upcoming ticketed events, and upcoming community and catering events. B. City of Kent. Kurt Hanson, City of Kent Economic and Community Development Deputy Director, advised that he will be the Director of Economic and Community Development beginning on February 16 and will be attending the Public Facilities District meetings. Mayor Dana Ralph advised that the accesso ShoWare Center benefits the community and is an asset to the City of Kent and the region. She looks forward to educating the public on the benefit of having the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent. 9. Seattle Thunderbirds Update A. Sales, Marketing and Attendance. Colin Campbell, Assistant General Manager of the Seattle Thunderbirds, provided details regarding increased attendance, increase in concessions, and the increased number of televised games. Colin indicated that the team is currently in third place and have 13 home games left. B. Advertising and Suite Sales. Colin Campbell advised that ticket sales have increased and the revenue from advertising has also increased. 10. Other Business None 11. Adjournment Carmen Goers moved to adjourn the meeting and Jeff Piecewicz SECONDED the motion. The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 4-0. We have found we have to switch over to more story and content driven material then just pushing the shows and events at the venue. Sharing links and cross-promoting have allowed us to stay visible on this platform.  Twitter: 2,067 Followers / Averaging 37,000 monthly impressions (Up 7,000 impressions per month) o Most of our followers on this platform come to our venue twitter for Seattle Thunderbird information or information for Hispanic based shows.  Instagram: 995 Followers (Increase 177 followers) / Averaging 5,814weekly impressions (up 2,154 from last quarter!) o Instagram has been our largest expansion this quarter. With a lot of our shows targeting younger audiences we are seeing a rise in our followings on Instagram and interactions with this profile. Out of all our social platforms this one is gaining the most interaction. The age range we are seeing are between 18-34 on Instagram, which is the audience for most of the shows we had coming in last quarter and this coming quarter. AS OF TODAY – Email Marketing information:  120,099 active email subscribers in database (up 5,677 emails)  Average open rate per email – 45% / avg. click rate 10-15% o This platform is VERY important to us! We are working to create more specific campaigns that target very specific customers through data sorting, which has allowed us to grow out open rate over 15% from last quarter. We are seeing more specific emails to those who have already been interacting with our materials is allowing us to grow here.  accesso ShoWare Center - 625 W James St - Kent, WA 98032 - Ph 253.856.6999 - accessoShoWareCenter.com  accesso ShoWare Center News / Highlights for Q4:  Comedian Jo Koy sells out 2 shows at accesso ShoWare Center, making it the largest capacity venue to date he has sold out. Over 11,000 patrons attended his new “Break The Mold Tour” between the two shows  G-Eazy SOLD OUT the venue when he brought his acclaimed “Beautiful & Damned Tour” to the venue on March 3rd. The rapper brought in over 6,800 patrons with most of these tickets buyers being first time buyers at our venue, expanding our reach to new demographics  On January 28th FELD Entertainment brought its stage show Disney LIVE! Mickey & Minnie’s Doorway to Magic to the venue. The tour only planned to play 2 shows, but after selling both of those shows out and there still being a high ticket demand a third show was added. Over 6,000 patrons where in and out of the venue in a single day  Your Seattle Thunderbirds finished their 2017-2018 season with 24 home games played within 1st quarter and hosting two playoff games. While the team is out of the playoffs for the season, the team is already gearing up for 18-19 with season tickets already on sale and a planned 32 games on the calendar for next season  MASL Tacoma Stars played their 6 final home games at the venue this quarter and hosted a playoff game against the division rivals, The San Diego Sockers. The team will bring back 11 home games next season.  On March 7th over 5,000 students came to the venue to attend the Sumner School District’s ServUs Leadership Conference. This is the largest amount of students yet this conference has brought to the venue ranging from students from Walla Walla to Spokane.  Regional Mexican Group “El Fantasma” returned to the venue filling the floor of the venue for a night of dancing. This is the 2nd time the artist has played at the venue and the attendance grows year over year even with high competition in the market for bands like Banda MS  “King Showare” High School Basketball Tournament returned to the venue on January 15th where some of the states top HS Basketball teams competed throughout the days  accesso ShoWare Center - 625 W James St - Kent, WA 98032 - Ph 253.856.6999 - accessoShoWareCenter.com  tournament.
