5. Welcome/Intro New Commissioners
New Commissioners Ed Keeley, Kristie Duggan, Scott Taylor, Tim Wilson, and
Todd Minor, were present. Roundtable introductions of all commissioners new
and current occurred.
Mayor approved new commission appointees without a youth due to lack of
interest.
6. 2019-2020 Capital Projects Update
Deputy Director Brian Levenhagan shared background and status of projects in
progress, to be started and on hold.
7. 2019 – 2020 Budget Development
High-level information regarding the Directors process in formulating, presenting
and implementing the 2019 – 2020 budget.
8. Green Kent Update
Parks is recommending phasing out of the current Green Kent Initiative because
of underfunding of the Park system and inability to staff the initiative due to

current union contracts and limitations of allowable Green Kent Stewards
volunteers. Alternately the Parks Department is recommending several steps
involving working with Green Kent and King County Conservation District to
relook at the current model to modify it to fit our current budgetary constraints.
