Call to Order/Roll Call: Commission Chair Zandria Michaud called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. Changes to Agendas: No Changes to agenda 3. Minutes dated October 24 & November 28, 2018: Were approved as edited by unanimous vote. 4. Welcome by the Mayor Mayor reiterated her dedication to the City of Kent and opened the floor to questions. 5. Presentation/Discussion by Kent PD Discussed standard operation procedures of Special Operations Unit consisting of 6 officers and Commander. S.O.U. is the Bike and Boat Unit that support Parks in areas of events safety and security as well as gang activity and interact with the City of Kent’s homeless and transient population with a goal of making Kent Parks Safe and fun for visitors. 6. Final Bylaws and Ordinance for the Parks and Recreation Commission Director Julie Parascondola shared updated approved Bylaws with Commission and went over changes to them. Will be submitted to City Council. 7. Updated on YMCA Community Benefits | Long-Term Agreement Director Julie Parascondola shared the Operations Committee December 5, 2017, handout and outlined the five agreements regarding the 50-year community benefit. Announcements Director Julie Parascondola shared the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services 2017 accomplishments and 2018 work plan handout from the All-Staff meeting held January 10, 2018. Commissioner Dan Barrett submitted a letter addressing the need for new parks open space development of recreation facilities in the Panther Lake Community. 9.
