The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee typically meets in October and March to review grant

RE: Lodging Tax Advisory Committee Reappointments
SUMMARY: The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee serves in an advisory capacity to
the Mayor and City Council and makes reports and recommendations to the Mayor and
City Council.
Four members are appointed by the City Council who are representatives of businesses
required to collect tax under Chapter 67.28 RCW;
Four members appointed by the City Council who are persons involved in activities
authorized to be funded by revenue received under Chapter 67.28 RCW; and
The council president appoints a member of council’s operations committee to serve as
a member of and to chair the lodging tax advisory committee.
Organizations representing businesses required to collect tax under Chapter 67.28 RCW
and organizations involved in activities authorized to be funded by revenue received
under said tax as well as local agencies involved in tourism and promotion may submit
recommendations for membership on the committee.
Andrew Hutchison is being reappointed as a representative of hotel interests, as is
Barbara Smith, representing the Kent Downtown Partnership – an organization eligible
to utilize the funds.
