Commissioners: Chair Suzanne Smith, Vice Chair Dan Cox, Treasurer Gerard Philpotts,

Michael Taskey made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Tonya Goodwillie
seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

August month end reports were circulated.
6. Performing Arts Committee Staff Billerbeck
A. Summer Concert Series NO
-Staff reported that the 2018 Summer Concert Series was successful with
approximately 6,850 in attendance over the 12 concerts. Nearly $13,000 in
sponsorship and grant revenue was collected, up from $8,300 the year before.
B. Spotlight Series
-2018-2019 Update: Positive feedback on season brochures, early ticket sales are
strong.
-2019-2020 Booking: Performing Arts Committee will plan to meet in October.
7. Visual Arts/Acquisitions Committee Staff Billerbeck
A. Kent Creates:
-“Vacations and Summer Celebrations” voting NO
-New Exhibit: Fall Colors
-Voting – Council Liaison and Alternate YES
Colleen Maloney made a motion to give the Arts Commission Council Liaison and
Alternate voting privileges for Kent Creates. Michael Taskey seconded and the
motion carried unanimously.

B. City Art Plan
-Traffic Control box call – project update YES
The selection panel chose 8 artists: Debbi Commodore, Erica Peto, Cecelia DeLeon,
Cheryl Rhodes, Nori Kimura, Amanda Pearman, Ahmed Bashir Davis, and Creative
Art Space (artist team). Linda Mackintosh made a motion to accept the panel’s
recommendations and contract with the selected artists. Susan Machler seconded
and the motion carried unanimously.
-Morrill Meadows art project update NO
Staff is working to get the artist contract signed.
