-John McEuen: March 9, 7:30 p.m., K-M – 177 sold so far
-An Evening with Groucho: March 23, 7:30 p.m. – 85 sold so far
B. 2018-2019 Booking Update
-Summer Concert Series – Approve Schedule YES
Staff presented the 2018 Summer Concert Series schedule for approval.
Cox moved to approve the schedule. Philpotts seconded and the motion carried
unanimously.

-Spotlight Series – Staff shared an update of confirmations and offers for the
2018-2019 season.
8. Visual Arts/Acquisitions Committee Staff Billerbeck
A. Kent Creates: NO
-“Lighting up the Dark” exhibit is posted online and runs through March 31. Ten
submissions have been received so far.
B. 2017-2021 City Art Plan NO
-Traffic Control boxes update – installation planned for this week
-Morrill Meadows/East Hill Park art Parcourse pieces – 13 applicants responded to
call for artists, staff currently working to schedule initial review panel
C. 2018-2022 City Art Plan NO
-Goes to Parks Committee on February 15

proposal change: Machler made a motion to approve the proposed changes,
DuBois seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
C. Community Arts Support at Council Meeting NO
Representatives from all six recipient organizations were recognized at the
February 6 Council meeting.
D. Arts Day in Olympia, February 7 NO
Commissioners Smith and Cunningham joined staff in Olympia, met with
Representatives from the 33rd and 47th districts and legislative aids for Senators
from both districts.

Commissioners expressed concern over proposed changes to 4Culture

-Cunningham stressed the importance of strong social media to get the word
out about the Arts Commission and programs.
-Commissioners requested a link to the Commission’s Facebook page be added
to the website, and discussed using a hashtag such as #kentarts in personal
