Dan Cox made a motion to approve the minutes as written, Hal O’Brien seconded
and the motion carried unanimously.

6. Performing Arts Committee
A. Spotlight Series NO
-2018-2019 Update: An Evening with Molly Ringwald sold 288 tickets, Magical
Strings was sold out at 361 tickets. Upcoming show, An Evening with Peter Yarrow
is selling strong with 266 tickets sold to date.
-2019-2020 Booking – Update on confirmed shows and offers pending
7. Visual Arts/Acquisitions Committee
A. Kent Creates:
-Exhibit – Fall Colors – 41 submissions, 5 winners
-Next Exhibit – New Year/Happy New Year
-Platform maintenance YES
Dan Cox made a motion to spend up to $8,000 of the City Art Plan money set aside
for Kent Creates to pay for necessary maintenance and upgrades. Hal O’Brien
seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

B. City Art Plan Projects
-Traffic Control box – update NO
Final artwork is due from artists 12/14
-Morrill Meadows Parcourse sculptures – update NO
Artist Clark Wiegman is working on design development, he has met with the
project landscape architect to determine siting.
C. Gallery NO
-Mary McInnis and Ray Fernandez (Jan./Feb.)
D. Middle Garden Mural by Don Barrie YES
Black and white landscape mural (1991) in the 1st Avenue pocket park needs to be
de-accessioned due to required repairs to the wall at 215 1st Ave. S. Hal O’Brien
made a motion to de-accession the mural (N. and S. walls). Machler seconded and
the motion carried unanimously. Staff will notify the artist via certified letter.
8. General updates/other business
A. Give Me Culture applications YES
-All City MLK Rally – Susan Machler made a motion to award $1,000 (2019 budget).
Susan Bagrationoff seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
-Music 4 Life – Susan Machler made a motion to award $1,000 (2019 budget). Dan
Cox seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
-M-Power Youth – Susan Machler made a motion to award $1,000 (2018 budget).
Dan Cox seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
B. 4Culture Creative Consultancies NO
Update: 4Culture has paired us with artist Lucia Neare. Next steps are to work with
Neare to create a scope of work proposal.
