GUEST: Taubon STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: April Delchamps, Dan Hansen. ABSENT: Frank Boosman. 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 5:45 PM, with Rich Davis presiding. 2. Roll Call Board member Frank Boosman was absent. 3. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the July 30, 2018 meeting were reviewed. Karen Chandler moved to accept the minutes and Mel Roberts seconded the motion and the minutes were approved. 4. Update of Recruitment of New KBAB Member Brandon Swanson’s resignation opened a new position on the KBAB. Dan Hansen is reviewing seven different applications. Dan will summarize all the applicants on a spreadsheet that he will present to the Mayor to review. Remainder of the applications will be kept on file for future openings. New member criteria discussed: Even mix from different demographics of the city. Different types of bike riders. Members of the public are welcome to join a meeting. 5. Letter to City Counsel Regarding Mel Robert’s Service Frank Boosman was not available to present. 6. Bylaw and Resolution Changes to Establish Term Limits Terms will be 2 years and staggered. Lynell will send out bylaws (Dan Hansen’s email). 7. Green River Trail Detour Route Update Mel Roberts submitted a map with three detour routes. Wendy Graves moved to accept all three routes on Mel’s submittal and Aaron Dent seconded the motion. The motion carried for KBAB to adopt all three routes. Dan Hansen will submit to King County. Action Item: Dan Hansen will forward maintenance items for the GRT Alternative Route to the City of Kent Maintenance Department. 8. Sound Transit ST3 Access Program Grants April Delchamps re-capped KBAB’s focus projects for Round 1 funding: Bike security facilities—cages and charging stations for e-bikes and bike sharing. Flashing lights for crossing at Railroad and Smith (currently a marked crossing only). Way-finding signs to direct from Meet Me on Meeker to Kent Station. 9. Kent TMP Non-Motorized Plan Membership divided into two groups to mark up map for April Delchamps to complete the final submittal for the TMP. 10.
