4. Changes to the Agenda

5. Grant Update
Research & Development Analyst Sara Wood gave an update on Grand
Funding.
Drug Free Coalition Grant is in year 10 of a 10 year Grant - will be looking
into Opioid Grants and other funding as this has been covering Game of Life
Youth Conference, Prescription Drug Take Back Day, etc.
Stop Act Grant focuses on Alcohol prevention and helps with 8th-9th grade
transition in schools and other youth needs.
Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) helps with equipment and Hot-Spot overtime
patrols.
Washington Traffic Safety Commission supports traffic safety concerns and
issues. Looking to implement a phlebotomy program.
Boat Grant allows for extra enforcement on Lake Meridian and provide
education and water safety presentations.
State Farm funding supports racing reduction and prevention.

6. Recruiting Website
Recruiting Officer Wayne Graff presented the new Police Department
Recruiting website and the benefits of hiring on with KPD.

Phase 2 in progress - Corrections page and PD Specialty Unit page
Office Graff also showed the military recruiting video.
7. Chief's Update
Assistant Chief Kammerzell spoke about the development of a 5 year
Strategic Plan. The plan should be published in April

Toni Troutner introduced two Highline Community College Students,
Johnathan Vu and Elijah Pham, in the audience fulfilling a Civics class
requirement.
