3. Changes to the Agenda
New Finance Director Paula Painter provided an informational update on the
lodging tax revenues available for the committee to award. As this was not
placed on the original agenda John Casey moved that it be added, the
committee approved unanimously and Chair Boyce declared it would be item
5.2.

Chair Boyce requested that a link to the current LTAC page be included in the
minutes, as there are several old links floating around on the internet. Per
that request:

5. Appoint New Member the Logding Tax Advisory Committee
1. Appoint Erin McCallum to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee
Committee moved to Recommend to Council the Appointment of Erin
McCallum to the Committee as a voting member, and to recommend that
Zenovia Harris, new CEO of the Kent Chamber of Commerce be invited to
participate on the committee as a non-voting advisory member.
MOTION: Recommend to Council the appointment of Erin McCallum to
the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.
RESULT: RECOMMENDED TO COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE [UNANIMOUS]

2. LTAC Budget Update
City of Kent Finance Director Paula Painter provided an update on LTAC funds
disbursed to date in 2019, funds committed but not disbursed, and revenues
collected to date and budgeted (anticipated to collect) for the remainder of
2019. The purpose of this update and discussion was to clarify the revenues
available to the committee to award.
6. Evaluate/score grant applications
1. Evaluate and Score Lodging Tax Advisory Grant Applications
The committee anticipated it would require two minutes to e valuate and
determine award amounts for the 10 grant applications received during this
funding cycle.

MOTION: Recommend to Council LTAC Grant Award Winners and
funding levels for applications submitted during the September cycle
which meet the qualification guidelines set forth by the State of
Washington.
