1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 3:07 p.m.

3. Community Engagement Center – Tour (Lisa Christen, Whonakee King)
A tour of the Community Engagement Center was given by Whonakee and Lisa
from Catholic Community Services. The center is open Monday, Tuesday and
Thursday from 10am – 3pm. There are showers, an open kitchen, a washer and
dryer, computers available for use and an outdoor area. The center is staffed by 1
full time case manager, 1 engagement coordinator and 2-3 interns.

5. Approval of October 18, 2018 Minutes
Commissioner Hallerman MOVED to approve pending minutes from October 18,
2018 and Commissioner Robinson SECONDED.
6. CREW – Presentation (Julie Goodman, Matt Landis)

Approval Pending
An overview of CReW (Counseling Recovery Wellness) program was given by Julie
and Matt. CReW started as a behavioral health and mental health program and
now encompasses substance services as well. The program is designed to connect
single adult individuals and families to services including health, housing and
shelter, medical and benefits. The team works with day centers, shelters, Police
Departments, Fire Departments, jail systems and does outreach on the streets.
Their biggest barrier is a lack of resources.
7. Parallel Application Funding Recommendations (Lori Guilfoyle)
The following 5 organizations were recommended for funding (spreadsheet provided
to committee)
Brown Girls Write $5000
Education with a Purpose Foundation for Pacific Islanders $9,000
Falis $5,000
Folklore Mexicano Tonantzin $4,000
Project Feast $6,800
Commissioner Rosas MOVED to recommend funding for agencies and programs for
the specified amounts for the 2019 and 2020 Human Services Parallel Application,
Commissioner Robinson SECONDED.
8. Updates
Lori –
Human Services is entering into the contract phase for the 2019/2020 funding cycle
and will be negotiating contract with agencies in December.
Finished processing 3rd quarter reports for currently funded agencies and all are
meeting or exceeding goals.
