Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 3-O.
7. Action ltems
Memo dated November 7, 2018 from Chief Padilla requesting to test for the
position of Parking Enforcement Assistant and that the following process and
weights be applied:
a. Written Exam:. 3oo/o (70o/o passing score required)
The department requests that the top 20 applicants from the written exam
and data entry test move on to the oral board process.
b. Oral Board: 7oo/o (7oo/o passing score required)
c, Background: Pass/Fail
d. Polygraph: Pass/Fail
Chief Examiner Winecka explained that this is the same process that was
used last time to fill this position.
Commissioner Thomas then made a motion to approve the request to test
for the position of Parking Enforcement Assistant and to follow the process
and weights as suggested. Motion was seconded by Chair Piecewicz;
motion passed 3-O.
Memo dated November 28,2OIB from Chief Padilla requesting a six month
extension for the Sergeant eligibility list. If approved, the list would then
expire on June L2,20L9.
Chair Piecewicz made a mot¡on to extend the eligibility list for the rank of
Sergeant with the new expiration now being June f.zt 2OL9. Commissioner
Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 3-O,

This letter is to confirm our recent offer of employment, Your employment with the City will be effective
Monday, December 3, 2018. Upon receipt of this letter, please call Sergeant Pakeke Pisia at (253) 856-
5960 for details on your duty assignment. You will be receiving an email from NeoGov with a link to
activate your City of Kent onboarding account. Please notify HR Recruitment (253)856-5270 if you don't
receive the link within three business days of the date of this letter. It is critical that you set up your
account to review new employee information and complete all checklist tasks as assigned pr¡or to your
start date, We anticipate this process will take approximately 15 minutes.
You have been scheduled for a new employee orientation on Monday, December 3, at 10:00 AM with the
benefits staff in Human Resources. Please bring document(s) required by government regulations for all
new hires providing proof of your eligibility to work in the United States, which you will need to complete
your I-9 form. A list of acceptable documents can be found on the Onboarding portal. Please report to the
City of Kent Corrections Facility at 8:00 AM and contact Officer Horejsi who willfacilitate your first day
including a 9:00 AM appointment with Multimedia to have your City access card photo taken.
Your starting base salary as a probationary lateral corrections officer will be at 4C28, Step D 95,538 per
month. You will be provided with a leave bank of 40 hours of annual leave and 40 hours of sick leave. You
will be placed on probationary status for one year from your date of hire. All other benefits will follow your
union contract. Additionally, you qualify for our $5,000 Lateral Hiring Incentive which is payable in two
payments ($2,500 on your first paycheck and $2,500 upon your successful completion of probation; less
applicable taxes).
If the terms of this offer of employment are acceptable to you, please so indicate by signing on the
acceptance line and returning one executed original to Corrections Officer Amber Horejsi at the address
