I think I,m supposed to send this to you. During the design of the ITS--and electrical systems we
neglected to replace the traffic camera that was removedlrom the traffic signal at the intersection' we
need to install a traffic camera at 4/Willis. Mike put together the information below for a change order to
have the camera installed. Mike is the subject matter expert. Please feel free to contact him directly if
you have questions.

one that was removed from the traffic signal pole on the southwest corner, see the description
and placement below. The description below is a modified version of one used for a recent
project and may need some additional fine tuning by others._Install new traffic monitoring

installation of camera assemblies (camera, lens, and housing), pan and tilt drives, cables'

that includes the camera, mounting materials, cables, cable splices, connectors and any

The Contractor shall submit to the Engineer the method that is intended to be used to install
the various cables, Any cable runs whJch have damaged jackets or do not pass the
appropriate test will be rejected and shall be replaced byttre contractor at no additional cost
to the CitY of Kent.
All cables shall be supported so that there is no weight being transferred from the camera
cable to the entry points through pores or extrusionl. Rtt hoies through poles shall be sealed
with outdoor rated watertight grips'
All cables shall be tagged with permanent markers of PVC identifying their use' Cables shall
be tagged at both ends and at every junction box location.

The Contractor shall provide and install camera cables with the proper type and quantity of
conductors to enable connection as recommended by the selected vendors and as required to
provide for proper operation of the closed circuit television system. The cable shall provide
camera power, environmental housing heater power, pan/ tilt drive power and controls, and
camera lens controls. cat 6+ outdooirated cable with appropriate outside diameter for all
watertight connectors shall be used.

The Contractor shall allow the City 1 week to setup and test the PTZ camera(s). If problems
are found by the City during each testing phase, the Contractor shall repair, replace, or
reconfigure each CCTV camera installation as necessary, at no additional cost to the
Contracting AgencY.

cCry cameras shall be Cohu Rise 1080p HD Hybrid camera model (426L-LO00) with power
over Ethernet. The Camera shall include a Cohu supplied 70W POE + injector, RJ45 IP67
coupler, outdoor rated POE++ lightning surge protector, 2ea Ethernet extenders model
Vi2300w. Camera mounting equr-pmeni srratt be Pelco pole mount PN#8185-4 with additional
lower support brace and other equipment and hardware as required for a complete and
operational CCTV camera sYstem.

Hi Mike,
I don,t remember if we talked about this. we need to have a camera installed at the 4/willis roundabout
to watch the intersection. we should probably have a second camera installed to watch the UPRR
crossing. Does this sound familiar? I need you to come up with a plan so we can send it to
Construction. Thanks'
