The Meeting of the Civil Service Commission was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by Chair Zaratkiewicz. 2. Commissioners present: C. Zaratkiewicz, P. Thomas, and J. Piecewicz 3. There were no changes to the agenda. 4. Commissioner Thomas moved to approve the minutes, dated November 18, 2015, seconded by Commissioner Piecewicz. Motion carried 3-0. 5. Consent Items to Accept: Chair Zaratkiewicz moved to accept Items A through I, seconded by Commissioner Thomas. Motion carried 3-0. A. Memo dated November 9, 2015 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Cmdr. Jarod Kasner will be assigned as Acting Assistant Chief November 12- 19, 2015. B. Memo dated November 11, 2015 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Cmdr. Robert Scholl will be assigned as Acting Assistant Chief November 12-13, 2015. C. Memo dated November 11, 2015 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Cmdr. Jarod Kasner will be assigned as Acting Assistant Chief November 16- 19, 2015. D. Memo dated November 12, 2015 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Christy Warren’s Acting Records Supervisor assignment was extended from October 4- November 15, 2015. E. Memo dated November 12, 2015 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Christy Warren was promoted to Records Supervisor effective November 16, 2015. F. Memo dated December 4, 2015 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Ofr. Donevan Dexheimer will be assigned as Acting Sergeant December 7- 11, 2015. G. Memo and corresponding letter dated December 9, 2015 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Ofr. Garrett Gunderson successfully completed the probationary period for the position of Police Officer and is appointed to regular employment status effective December 9, 2015. H. Letters dated December 11, 2015 from Chief Examiner Winecka to entry level applicants Micah Hackett, Quang Tran, and Djervatius Dobbins notifying them that their names have been removed from the Continuous Testing Eligibility List for the rank of Entry Level Police Officer effective December 11, 2015. I. Letters dated December 11, 2015 from Chief Examiner Winecka to entry level applicants Eric Olson, Nathan Jendrick, and Michael Newton notifying them that their names have been removed from the Continuous Testing Eligibility List for the rank of Entry Level Police Officer effective December 11, 2015 as they have been hired elsewhere. 6. Consent Items to Approve: There being no discussion, Commissioner Piecewicz moved to approve Items A through D, seconded by Commissioner Thomas. Motion carried 3-0. A. Continuous Testing Eligibility list for the position of Entry Level Police Officer that was established on November 12, 2015. B. Eligibility list for the position of Administrative Assistant II that was established on November 16, 2015. C. Eligibility list for the rank of Commander that was established on November 24, 2015. D. Eligibility list for the rank of Assistant Chief that was established on December 7, 2015. 7. Action Items: Chair Zaratkiewicz made a motion to grant permission to test for the position of Evidence Custodian with the weights as listed. Commissioner Piecewicz seconded. Motion carried 3-0. A. Memo dated December 9, 2015 from Asst. Chief Padilla requesting permission to test for the position Evidence Custodian and that the following process and weights be used to fill the vacancy: a. Written Exam: 30% (70% passing score required) b. Oral Board: 70% (70% passing score required) c. Background: Pass/Fail d. Polygraph: Pass/Fail e. Psychological Exam: Pass/Fail *The department requests that up to the top 20 candidates from the written exam will be invited to the oral board process. 8. For the good of the order There was nothing further to come before the Commission. 9. Adjournment Commissioner Thomas made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Piecewicz. Motion carried 3-0.
