It was very well written and covered so many special thoughts and emotions. We know you've been planning your retirement for some time now but to see it in writing is not easy. You're such a part of this department we can honestly say things are not going to be the same without your laughter and positive influence. We're glad you sent your letter early so we have time to absorb the reality of you leaving also knowing your reason is about family helps us support your decision. You will be deeply missed by everyone in the department but will always remain part of our family. With great sadness and respect, _.jr Corrections Family... From: Aguilar, Esteban Sent: Saturday, December 20, 2014 10:49 PM To: Padilla, Rafael; McCuistion, Diane; _Police Corrections Sergeants Subject: retirement letter To The City of Kent Police Department On June 4th of 2015, after 30 great years, my career with the City of Kent Police Department will come to an end, as I will be retiring from the organization. The decision to retire was a tough one to make, but ultimately I feel like it is the right decision and the right time to make this decision, for myself and most importantly for my family. Family is special to me, and after 30 years, I can honestly say that I now have two families, my actual blood relatives and also my friends and colleagues here with the Kent PD. Words cannot fully express the gratitude that I have for this organization, to the management and to the coworkers who've been such a major part in my life, providing me with memories and experiences that I will remember and cherish forever. also extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to not only help to enforce the law but to also help serve a3 a mentor to some of the inmates and help be a positive influence in their lives. i Giving back to the community has always been something that I took great pride in and something that I've been fortunate enough to do on many levels thanks to this job. job has given me the opportunity to work directly with the community in events such as the Kent Cornucopia and it opened the doors for me to become a member of the Kent Lions Club, a club I was able to be President for at one point. The job was always about so much more than just Jail Cells and Inmates and that is what I've always taken great pride in. When I had my health issues, the support from this organization is one of the things that aided my recovery the most, and my family and I will forever be thankful for that. In closing I would like to say that even though the time has come for my career to end, I will always be a member of the Kent PD in spirit and will always have great pride in having been affiliated with such a first class organization.
