Attending: Jeff Piecewicz- Chair; Pauline Thomas, Commissioner; Callius
Zaratkiewicz- absent, Commissioner; Natalie Winecka, Secretary/Chief Examiner
Agenda:
1. Call to Order
Chair Piecewicz called the meeting to order at 5:33 PM
2. Roll Call
Callius Zaratkiewicz was absent.
3. Changes to the Agenda
There were no changes to the agenda.
4. Approval of the Minutes
Commissioner Thomas made a motion to approve the minutes from the
August 26, 2020 Civil Service Commission meeting. Motion was
seconded by Chair Piecewicz; motion passed 2-0.
5. Consent Items to Accept
A. Email dated August 12, 2020 from Records Specialist Shelley Warren notifying
Chief Padilla of her intent to retire effective September 1, 2020.
B. Memo dated August 13, 2020 from Chief Padilla accepting the retirement of
Shelley Warren.
C. Memo from Chief Examiner Winecka on behalf of Chief Padilla dated August 14,
2020 outlining the impacts to positions in response to the budget shortfalls
brought on by COVID-19.
D. Memo dated August 27, 2020 from Ofr. Sam Steiner tendering his resignation
effective October 20, 2020.
E. Memo dated August 27, 2020 from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of Ofr.
Sam Steiner.
F. Eligibility list removals through September 17, 2020.
There being no questions, Chair Piecewicz made a motion to accept consent
items A-F. Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 2-0.

6. Items to Approve
A. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Police Officer (no PAT) that was
established on August 19, 2020.
B. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Police Officer that was
established on August 19, 2020.
C. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Lateral/Experienced Police Officer that was
established on September 1, 2020.
D. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Lateral/Experienced Police Officer that was
established on September 17, 2020.
There being no questions, Chair Piecewicz made a motion to approve items
A-D. Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 2-0.
7. Action Items
There were no action items for discussion.
8. For the Good of the Order
Chief Examiner noted that she would be bringing a memo to the October
meeting to move the November and December meetings due to the holidays.
9. Adjournment
Chair Piecewicz made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Thomas seconded the
motion; motion passed 2-0. Meeting was adjourned at 5:38 PM.
