Attending: Jeff Piecewicz- Chair; Pauline Thomas, absent; Callius Zaratkiewicz,
Commissioner; Natalie Winecka, Secretary/Chief Examiner
Agenda:
1. Call to Order
Chair Piecewicz called the meeting to order at 5:35 PM
2. Roll Call
Commissioner Thomas was absent.
3. Changes to the Agenda
There were no changes to the agenda.
4. Approval of the Minutes
Commissioner Zaratkiewicz made a motion to approve the minutes
from the April 22, 2020 Civil Service Commission meeting. Motion was
seconded by Chair Piecewicz; motion passed 2-0.
5. Consent Items to Accept
A. Letter dated May 5, 2020 from Cmdr. Todd Durham notifying Chief Padilla of his
intent to retire effective June 30, 2020 after more than 30 years of service.
B. Letter dated May 8, 2020 from Chief Padilla to Liam Bertolacci congratulating him
on being hired as a Probationary Police Recruit Officer effective May 18, 2020.
C. Letter dated May 8, 2020 from Chief Padilla to Arturo Aguirre congratulating him
on being hired as a Probationary Police Recruit Officer effective June 1, 2020.
D. Memo dated May 11, 2020 from Chief Padilla accepting the retirement of Cmdr.
Todd Durham effective June 30, 2020.
E. Letter dated May 17, 2020 from Chief Padilla to Officers Matthew Flesher and
Lovai Hong notifying them that they successfully completed the probationary
period and are appointed to regular employment status effective May 17, 2020.
F. Memo dated May 21, 2020 from Chief Examiner Winecka with the eligibility list
removals through May 21, 2020.

There being no questions, Chair Piecewicz made a motion to accept consent
items A-F. Commissioner Zaratkiewicz seconded the motion; motion passed
2-0.
6. Items to Approve
A. Eligibility list for the rank of Sergeant that was established on March 17, 2020.
B. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Lateral/Experienced Police Officer that was
established on March 31, 2020.
C. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Lateral/Experienced Police Officer that was
established on April 15, 2020.
D. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Corrections Officer that was
established on April 16, 2020.
E. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Lateral/Experienced Corrections Officer that
was established on April 27, 2020.
F. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Lateral/Experienced Corrections Officer that
was established on May 8, 2020.
G. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Lateral/Experienced Police Officer that was
established on May 8, 2020.
H. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Corrections Officer (no PAT) that
was established on May 19, 2020.
I. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Corrections Officer that was
established on May 19, 2020.
Chair Piecewicz asked for clarification on item H. After Chief Examiner
Winecka explained, there were no additional questions. Commissioner
Zaratkiewicz made a motion to approve items A-I. Chair Piecewicz seconded
the motion; motion passed 2-0.
7. Action Items
There were no action items for discussion.
8. For the Good of the Order
There was nothing for the good of the order.

9. Adjournment
Chair Piecewicz made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Zaratkiewicz seconded
the motion; motion passed 2-0. Meeting was adjourned at 5:38 PM.
