Attending: Jeff Piecewicz- Chair; Pauline Thomas, Commissioner; Callius
Zaratkiewicz, Commissioner; Natalie Winecka, Secretary/Chief Examiner
Agenda:
1. Call to Order
Chair Piecewicz called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM
2. Roll Call
All Commissioners were present.
3. Changes to the Agenda
There were no changes to the agenda.
4. Approval of the Minutes
Commissioner Zaratkiewicz made a motion to approve the minutes
from the September 23, 2020 Civil Service Commission meeting.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Thomas; motion passed 3-0.
5. Consent Items to Accept
A. Memo dated September 17, 2020 regarding a notice of discipline involving Det.
Tom Reiner.
B. Email and resignation letter from Ofr. Jonathan Jarman dated September 18,
2020.
C. Memo dated September 18, 2020 from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of
Jonathan Jarman effective September 18, 2020.
D. Letter dated October 1, 2020 from Chief Padilla to Kiril Van Orman congratulating
him on being hired as a Probationary Police Recruit Officer effective October 16,
2020.
E. Memo dated October 1, 2020 regarding a notice of discipline involving Ofr.
Michael Morfoot.
F. Letter dated October 16, 2020 from Record Specialist Caity Denny tendering her
resignation effective October 30, 2020.
G. Letter dated October 19, 2020 from Chief Padilla to Mai-Khanh Huynh notifying
her that she successfully completed her probationary period and is appointed to
regular employment status effective October 16, 2020.

H. Letter dated October 19, 2020 from Chief Padilla to Jennifer Lund notifying her
that she successfully completed her probationary period and is appointed to
regular employment status as Police Records Supervisor effective October 16,
2020.
I. Memo dated October 21, 2020 from Chief Padilla accepting the resignation of
Caitlynn Denny effective October 30, 2020.
J. Letter dated October 21, 2020 notifying Abbie Taylor that she successfully
completed the probationary period and is appointed to regular employment
status as Administrative Asst. II effective September 1, 2020.
K. Eligibility list removals through October 22, 2020.
There being no questions, Commissioner Thomas made a motion to accept
consent items A-K. Commissioner Zaratkiewicz seconded the motion;
motion passed 3-0.
6. Items to Approve
A. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Police Officer that was
established on October 2, 2020.
B. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Police Officer that was
established on October 11, 2020.
C. Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Lateral/Experienced Police Officer that was
established on October 12, 2020.
There being no questions, Chair Piecewicz made a motion to approve items
A-C. Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion; motion passed 3-0.
7. Action Items
A. Memo dated October 21, 2020 from Chief Examiner Winecka requesting to
move the November and December meeting dates to the third Wednesday,
instead of the fourth, to accommodate the holidays.
There being no questions, Commissioner Zaratkiewicz made a motion to
accept as presented the memo requesting to move the November and
December meetings. Commissioner Thomas seconded the motion; motion
passed 3-0.
8. For the Good of the Order
There was nothing for the good of the order.

9. Adjournment
Chair Piecewicz made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Thomas seconded the
motion; motion passed 3-0. Meeting was adjourned at 5:34 PM.
