The Meeting of the Civil Service Commission was called to order at 5:35 p.m. by Acting Chair Piecewicz. 2. Commissioners present: P. Thomas and J. Piecewicz (C. Zaratkiewicz arranged absence) 3. There were no changes to the agenda 4. Commissioner Thomas moved to approve the minutes, dated May 25, 2016, seconded by Acting Chair Piecewicz. Motion carried 2-0. 5. Consent Items to Accept: Acting Chair Piecewicz moved to accept Items A through J, seconded by Commissioner Thomas. Motion carried 2-0. A. Memo dated May 23, 2016 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that A/C Rafael Padilla will be assigned as Acting Chief from May 23-26, 2016. B. Letters dated May 25, 2016 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Corrections Officer candidates Aubyn Curtiss and Trenton Dougherty notifying them that their names have been removed from the Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Corrections Officer effective May 25, 2016. C. Letter dated May 25, 2016 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Lateral/Experienced Corrections Officer candidate Quintin Stewart notifying him that his name has been removed from the Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Lateral/Experienced Corrections Officer effective May 25, 2016. D. Letters dated May 31, 2016 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Police Officer candidates Chris Kurkowski, Connor Livingston, Jordan Tuttle, James Calvin, and Derek Thompson notifying them that their names have been removed from the Continuous Testing Eligibility List for Entry Level Police Officer effective May 31, 2016. E. Letter dated June 1, 2016 from Chief Thomas to Ofr. Geoffrey Lai notifying him that he successfully completed the probationary period and is appointed to regular employment status effective June 1, 2016. F. Memo dated June 3, 2016 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission that Cmdr. Jarod Kasner will be assigned as Acting Assistant Chief from June 6-10, 2016. G. Letter dated June 11, 2016 from Chief Thomas to Ofr. Matthew Rausch notifying him that he successfully completed the probationary period and is appointed to regular employment status effective June 11, 2016. H. Letter dated June 13, 2016 from Joshua Jones to Sheila Knapp tendering his resignation effective July 8, 2016. I. Memo dated June 13, 2016 from Chief Thomas accepting the resignation of Joshua Jones, effective July 8, 2016. J. Memo dated June 14, 2016 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission of various assignments that are going into effect August 7, 2016. 6. Consent Items to Approve: Commissioner Thomas moved to approve Item A, seconded by Acting Chair Piecewicz. Motion carried 2-0. A. Eligibility list for the position of Records Specialist that was established on June 6, 2016. 7. Action Items: There being no questions, Commissioner Thomas made a motion to grant permission to start testing for the position of Accounting Services Assistant III with the weights as listed. The motion was seconded by Acting Chair Piecewicz. Motion carried 2-0. A. Memo dated June 15, 2016 from Chief Thomas requesting permission to test for the position of Accounting Services Assistant III. The position will be opened in- house first and, if there is an insufficient number of applications received, the position will open externally with restrictions as set forth below. The department requests that the following testing process and weights be applied: a. Written Exam: 30% (70% passing score required) b. Computer Skills: Pass/Fail The department requests that the top 20 applicants from the written exam and computer skills assessments move on to the oral board process. c. Oral Board: 70% (70% passing score required) d. Background: Pass/Fail e. Polygraph: Pass/Fail 8. For the good of the order There was nothing further to come before the Commission. 9. Adjournment Commissioner Thomas made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Acting Chair Piecewicz. Motion carried 2-0. The meeting adjourned at 5:37 PM.
