Regularly Scheduled Meeting
January 27, 2016
5:30 p.m.
Item Description
1. The Meeting of the Civil Service Commission was called to order at 5:35
p.m. by Chair Zaratkiewicz.
2. Commissioners present: C. Zaratkiewicz, P. Thomas, and J. Piecewicz
3. There were no changes to the agenda.
4. Commissioner Thomas moved to approve the minutes, dated December
16, 2015, seconded by Commissioner Piecewicz. Motion carried 3-0.
5. Consent Items to Accept:
Chair Zaratkiewicz moved to accept Items A through H, seconded by
Commissioner Piecewicz. Motion carried 3-0.
A. Memo dated December 18, 2015 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission
that Ofr. Kevin Bateman will be assigned as Acting Sergeant from December 20-
27, 2015.
B. Memo dated December 18, 2015 from Chief Thomas notifying the Commission
that Ofr. Kenneth Clay will be assigned as Acting Sergeant from December 28-
January 4, 2016.
C. Memo dated January 4, 2016 from Chief Thomas accepting the resignation of
Corrections Officer Austin Snyder effective January 4, 2016.
D. Letters dated January 11, 2016 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Derek Hare and
Jeffrey Williams notifying them that their names have been removed from the
Continuous Testing Eligibility List for the position of Entry Level Corrections
Officer effective January 11, 2016.
E. Letter dated January 11, 2016 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Michael Codekas
notifying him that his name has been removed from our Continuous Testing
Eligibility List for the position of Entry Level Corrections Officer, per his request,
effective January 11, 2016.
F. Letter dated January 11, 2016 from Chief Examiner Winecka to Jennifer Kelly
notifying her that her name has been removed from our Continuous Testing
Eligibility List for the position of Experienced/Lateral Corrections Officer, per her
request, effective January 11, 2016.
G. Letters dated January 19, 2016 from Chief Examiner Winecka to applicants
William Harris, Daniel Lamothe, Timothy Scholl notifying them that their names
have been removed from our Continuous Testing Eligibility List for the position of
Entry Level Police Officer, per their request, effective January 19, 2016.
H. Letters dated January 19, 2016 from Chief Examiner Winecka to applicants Jacob
Berry, Jacob Merrill, Peter Tiemann, and Dallis Turk notifying them that their
names have been removed from our Continuous Testing Eligibility List for the
position of Entry Level Police Officer effective January 19, 2016.
6. Consent Items to Approve:
There being no discussion, Chair Zaratkiewicz moved to approve Items A
and B, seconded by Commissioner Piecewicz. Motion carried 3-0.
A. Eligibility list for the rank of Sergeant that was established on December 17,
2015.
B. Continuous Testing Eligibility list for the position of Entry Level Police Officer that
was established on January 19, 2016.
7. Action Items:
There were no action items for discussion.
8. For the good of the order
There was nothing further to come before the Commission.
9. Adjournment
Commissioner Thomas made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner
Piecewicz. Motion carried 3-0. The meeting adjourned at 5:39 PM.
