Following encryption, Comcast Customers with a set-top box, digital transport adapter(DTA), or a retail CableCARD device connected to each of their TVs,will be unaffected by this change. However,Comcast Customers currently receiving Limited Basic Service on any TV without equipment supplied by Comcast, will lose the ability to view any channels on that TV. All affected Comcast Customers need to contact Comcast to request equipment needed to continue receiving their services. In such cases, customers are entitled to receive equipment at no additional charge or service fee for a limited period of time, as allowed under the FCC order. The number and type of devices they are entitled to receive and for how long will vary depending on their situation. Limited Basic customers receiving the service on their TVs without Comcast-supplied equipment are entitled up to two devices for two years(five years if they also receive Medicaid). If the customer subscribes to a higher level of service and receive Limited Basic on a secondary TV without Comcast-supplied equipment, they are entitled to one device for one year. For more information about this equipment offer and eligibility, customers can go to www.comcast.com/di italadapterinfo or call 1-855-860-8989. In order for customers to qualify for any equipment at no additional charge or service fee, they must request the equipment between September 6, 20i3 and March 5,2014 and satisfy all other eligibility requirements as provided under the FCC Encryption Order. As always, if you have any questions or concerns regarding the Limited Basic Service encryption project, please feel free to contact me at(253)288-7496.
