Kent, WA 98032 RE: Basic Channels Migrating to Digital Format Dear Ms. Jacober: Beginning in September 2012, Comcast will take the final step in our digital network enhancement by converting all remaining analog channels to digital format. Following this enhancement, Comcast Customers will receive even more channels, crisp digital picture and sound on every TV, and all of their channels in a high quality digital format. In order to bring customers these new features, all or parts of your Local Franchise Authority will see all Comcast video services transmitted exclusively in digital format on October 30, 2012. This means that customers will need to have a digital set-top box or digital adapter from Comcast, or a third party device with a CableC TMARD for each television on which they wish to continue receiving Comcast video services.' In order to make this enhancement as seamless as possible for our customers, Comcast will provide customers digital equipment in accordance with their service tier. Comcast will provide up to three digital adapters to its current Limited Basic-tier customers at no additional cost. Any digital adapters a customer may require beyond three will cost them $.50 per month per additional adapter. Customers of bulk service contracts will receive digital equipment in accordance with their contract terms. Customers who would like more than the digital equipment included as part of their video service package may obtain additional equipment of their choice at the standard charge of$1.99 ($0.50 for Limited Basic customers) for each additional digital adapter and $8.75 for each additional digital set-top box.2 'Customers with QAM Tuner televisions will continue to be able to receive only Limited Basic channels without a digital device. In order to see any channels other than Limited Basic,QAM tuner TVs will also need a digital device.The Limited Basic channel line- up varies by area but in general includes local broadcast TV stations plus local government,education,and public access channels. 2 All pricing and offers subject to change.
