Call to Order/Roll Call: Commission Vice-Chair Richard Minutoli called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. 2. Changes to Agenda: Added Legislative Item 9 as an action item. 3. Approve Minutes dated August 26, 2020: Approved with friendly change 4. Public Comment (if any): Tim Brown – Improvement of Mill Creek Canyon Trail 5. Update on Parks 2021-2022 Proposed Budget: Director Parascondola and Deputy Director Levenhagen presented a PowerPoint presentation titled “Dedicated To Enriching Lives,” providing updates to the Commission regarding the 2021-20211 proposed budget. Commission Secretary will give the zoom link to Saturday, October 9th Budget Workshop. Q&A occurred. No actions or decisions made. 6. Update on the Transportation Master Plan: Parks Commissioner Sieger provided an update regarding the TMP and provided a link to the site (www.KentTMP.com). Q&A occurred. No actions or decisions made. 7. Update from Human Services: Human Services Manager Hanson presented a PowerPoint presentation titled Kent Human Services,” covering the response and services they provide during the COVID-19 pandemic. No actions or decisions made. 8. Discussion on the update of the Parks & Open Space Plan: Deputy Directory Levenhagen presented a PowerPoint presentation titled “Parks Plan Update Parks and Recreation Commission 10/7/2020.” Q&A occurred. No actions or decisions made. Page | 2 9. Parks Legislative Ask Parks will have three ask to submit to legislators. Deputy Director Levenhagen went over the three ask which are “Interurban Trail Improving Connections for Business and Leisure,” “Panther Lake Community Park,” and “Gateway To Downtown Supporting Our Local Businesses,” providing an outline of the three projects. Action taken. Motion proposed to submit the three ask by Kristie Dugan and seconded by Randy Furukawa. Unanimous vote in favor of the three projects. 10. Director/Commission Updates: Director Parascondola shared with the Commissioners the new Kent Works App. And explained its purpose and features. 11.
