As you may recall, the Lighthouse Project is funded by Criminal Justice funds allocated by the State of Washington. Recently, the Kent Police Department informed us that the allocated amount, $31,933 could be reduced at a later time because the amount is inflated above the amount that cities should expect to receive. The amount is inflated to compensate for potential population increases. or unexpected revenue(see highlighted areas on attachment). The Finance Department told us to go ahead and contract for this amount but to include a clause in. . the Lighthouse Contract to state that if the revenues from the State are reduced,.the.contract will be reduced accordingly.. %. :ate.:requesting that you draft language which i 11 state that the t998 ;allocation is a contingent amount and may change m the future . .
