1. Call to Order/Roll Call:
Commission Chair Minutoli called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
2. Changes to Agenda:
Added item 7. Public Comment and switched the order of Items 4 and 5.
3. Approve Minutes dated January 22, 2020:
Approved
4. Postponement of Chair and Vice-Chair Elections – Discussion / Potential
Vote:
With the consultant Randy Brinson from Third Sector, the Commission is in the
middle of defining the purpose and roles of the Commission, Chair, and Vice-Chair.
For continuity purposes, the Commission voted whether or not to hold off elections
until June. Election change may be reflected in the by-laws moving forward as to
when the new term of Chair and Vice-Chair will begin and end.
Action: Jennifer Ritchie - Motion to move Elections to June. Jeremy Jasman -
Seconded. Unanimous vote all in favor.
5. Welcome New Commissioner: Seong Yoon:
Chair Minutoli welcomed Seong Yoon as the newest Parks Commissioner and
asked him to introduce himself to the Commission.
6. Commission Visioning Homework and Discussion:
Randy Brinson from Third Sector Company requested roundtable feedback as to
why Commissioners are on the Parks and Recreation Commission. Mr. Brinson
played the YouTube video Simon Sinek - Start With Why - TED Talk and conducted
writing exercise to express the vision of what Parks mean to the Commission. A
Purpose Statement/Mission Statement and Belief statement to create a productive
working relationship with the Mayor was worked on and discussed. Handout of
“The Eight Word Mission Statement” was given to the Commissioners.

8. City Council Retreat Update:
Director Parascondola updated the Commissioners on the February 7 and 8 City
Council Retreat. Q&A occurred. No actions or decisions made.

Mill Creek Clean Up Project to Launch.
