Description of Proposed Work
The larger Meet Me on Meeker project takes an auto-oriented corridor with
disconnected, unfriendly non-motorized facilities, and transforms it into a true
multimodal corridor. The Meet Me on Meeker East segment would redesign the
existing street and construct a multimodal promenade on the south side of the
street, including a two-way shared use path, streetscape amenities, wider
sidewalk, street trees and vegetated buffers, pedestrian-scale lighting, and curb
extensions at the intersection.
The project leverages adjacent segments being constructed by the private sector
(2,500 feet) and a segment to the west being constructed with a Transportation
lmprovement Board (TlB) Complete Streets Award (170 feet), for a full non-
motorized connection from the Green River trail all the way to 54th Avenue
(3,750 feet).
This project is to redesign the street and construct the 1,080 feet of multimodal
facilities in between the one of the private developments and the grant funded
segment.
