f ■ Waste was illegally dumped in the trench from
1969 to 1978. 4,500 55 g 200,000 gallons of oly sludge

water and sludges are believed to be the
contents of the drums
■ 113 of the total drums were remoaed(1991)

■ Site hydrogeology is not well defined ■The City of Kent remains very concerned
about the potential release of any
■ Contaminant fate and transport are not hazardous materials which may impact
understood water supply or habitat.
■ Short distance between the south portal and
Clark Springs I I ■ DOE is requiring the PLP group to drill at
j least one deep well in the mine. The City
will provide input on the mine location in the
j next two weeks The well construction is
tentatively scheduled for summer 2005.

■ Potential Economic Impact: Clark Springs provides
up to 60%of Kent's Water Supply
• Loss of Clark Spring is equivalent to oNer 72 million
dollars for the same amount waterbased on what Kent
i paid for its share of P5 water. That teak 20 years and
additional sources may not be available.
• Essentially Clark Springs is not rqDlaceable.
■ Potential Public Health Impact:57,000 people
served by this water source

concerns
■ City has requested a supplemental remedial
investigation
