HomeMy WebLinkAboutCAG1998-0018 - Other - AFSCME 1998-2000 Labor Agreement - 07/15/1999 - MOU - Custodian Grandfathered Salaries MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF KENT AND AFSCME LOCAL 2617 This memorandum of understanding is intended to clarify the language in Appendix A, Schedule A of the 1998-2000 labor agreement with regard to the grandfathering of employees in custodial classifications. The City and Union have met to discuss this issue and have agreed to use this Memorandum of Understanding to clarify the intent of the language in the contract. To that end, the parties agree to the following: • The incumbents in the classification of Custodian who have been identified as having their salaries grandfathered at their 1997 contract salary range of AF15 are: Sharon Andreas, Richard Armeni, Lorena Hamilton, Aileen McCaughan, Lori Millbauer, Michael Miller, and Marilyn Wedvik. • The incumbent in the classification of Custodial Lead who has been identified as having her salary grandfathered at the 1997 contract salary range of AF20 is Cindy Jones. • The incumbents identified above are only grandfathered at their 1997 salary ranges for the classifications held on September 15, 1998, the date of signing of the 1998- 2000 collective bargaining agreement. • If, in the future, any of the above incumbents are transferred, promoted or have a change in classification to a classification different than the one occupied as identified above, they will no longer be grandfathered at the above salary ranges. Their positions and any new position in the custodial classifications will be filled at the new salary range as outlined in Appendix A of the 1998-2000 labor agreement. This agreement represents all of the parties' understanding and agreement with regard to this issue.
