Partnership (KDP) for Lunar Rover Capital Campaign Fundraising
Software
With Kent being home to the Boeing-built Apollo Lunar Rovers, the City greatly appreciates the
support by the KDP of our Kherson Park redevelopment project and placement of an interactive
Lunar Rover replica at the park.
This meaningful project provides an opportunity to celebrate an historic, national feat; one that
is so closely connected to the City's local history, present, and future.
To raise the funds necessary to create an inspiring, educational and historically significant
public space, the beginning stages of a capital campaign are underway to achieve the
fundraising goal.
With e-commerce setting the standard for shopping, donors to capital campaigns expect an
equally-simple ability to donate online. The City wishes to utilize Classy's fundraising platform,
a cloud-based tool that integrates online giving with payment processing, marketing, events
management, customer relationship management and social media.
Additionally, this one-stop platform will elevate and streamline the donor experience online,
while its back-end tools will provide critical automated functionality that will be extremely
helpful when the campaign ramps up this summer. Given it is staffed by only two people,
automating where possible will enable the team to spend time on donor outreach rather than
administrative tasks.
To expedite commencement of the online portion of the campaign and execution of a contract
between the KDP and Classy, the City wishes to provide assurance to the KDP it won't be forced
to cover the Classy's platform fees should the campaign's proceeds be insufficient.
We look forward to our continued partnership in landing Kent's next Lunar Rover.
TERMS:
The City of Kent will reimburse the KDP for Classy's platform fees should the Lunar Rover
Campaign proceeds be insufficient.
Should the KDP choose to utilize Classy's platform for its other fundraising activities and events,
a it may do so at no cost to the KDP during the first year. If after the first year the KDP wishes to

continue using the Classy platform for activities other the Lunar Rover project, a cost-sharing
agreement will be executed at that time.
