THIS AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER AGREEMENT (hereinafter "Amendment

(hereinafter referred to collectively as the "Department") and the Kent School District (hereinafter
referred to as the "District") for the provision of School Resource Officers (SROs).
WHEREAS, the parties entered into the School Resource Officer Agreement on November 22, 2016,
(hereinafter "Agreement"), wherein the Department agreed to provide two (2) commissioned police
officers to work as District SROs in accordance with the terms of the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement provided for an initial one-year term, expiring on August 31, 2017, and
authorized up to three (3) successive one-year terms thereafter, upon the mutual agreement of the
Department and the District; and
WHEREAS, the first option to extend having been exercised through the First Amendment to the
Agreement ("Amendment No. 1"), expired on August 31, 2018.
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Agreement to extend it for an additional one-year term,
through August 31, 2019 and to ratify all acts consistent with terms of this Amendment No. 2 and prior
to the effective date of this Amendment No. 2;
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual promises set forth herein, the parties hereto
mutually agree as follows:
1. TERM EXTENSION. The First Amendment to the Agreement expired on its own terms on August 31,
2018. The parties have mutually agreed to exercise the second of three options to extend the
Agreement for an additional one-year term. The Agreement is hereby ratified, renewed and
reinstated. The term of the Agreement is hereby extended through August 31, 2019. All acts
consistent with the authority of the Agreement and prior to the effective date of this Amendment

ATTACHMENT `A-V
TO
AMENDMENT NO. 2
The parties agree that the total cost to the Department to provide SROs to the District in accordance
with the terms of this Amendment No. 2 is $279,223.87 regardless of actual salary or benefit
adjustments that may be made by the Department for its officers. This amount includes the cost for two
(2) SROs from September 1, 2018, through August 31, 2019.
The District's reimbursement obligation, which is sixty percent (60%) of the total cost to the Department
for the SROs provided to the District, equals $167,534.32. Unless overtime is authorized by the District
in accordance with Section 5, or the Agreement modified as set forth in Section 6, this sum will be
considered the District's total reimbursement obligation for all SROs provided by the Department for the
duration of the performance period of this Agreement, regardless of actual salary or benefit
adjustments that may be made by the Department for its officers, subject to the Department's
obligations to refund the District as set forth in section 2(I).
The District shall pay said reimbursement in twelve (12) approximately equal monthly payments spread
over a one-year period starting September 1, 2012, with each payment being made upon submission by
the Department of a monthly invoice; provided, in the event this Agreement is executed after the term
of this Agreement begins, the District shall pay the total compensation as set forth in this Attachment A-
1, but will have fewer months to make such payments.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have affixed their signature on the dates below.
