A RESOLUTION of the City council of the
city of Kent, Washmgton, recognizmg Glenbrook
Neighborhood Council.
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has developed a Neighborhood Program to
promote and sustain an environment that responds to residents by building
partnerships between the City and its residents. In addition, the City of
Kent encourages res1dents to work together to form geographically distinct
neighborhood councils as a means to foster commumcat1on among
res1dents and to enhance their sense of community.
B. The City of Kent recogmzes and supports neighborhood
counc1ls by endorsmg a process to establish neighborhood boundaries,
approve neighborhood councils, and provide neighborhood grant match1ng
program opportun1t1es to make Improvements m defined neighborhoods.
C. The Glenbrook neighborhood cons1sts of one hundred and
forty-e1ght households.
D. The Glenbrook neighborhood is located on Kent's East Hill and
is situated generally to the west of 152"d Avenue SE, to the north of SE
Glenbrook Neighborhood
Council
274th Street, to the east of 148th Place SE and to the south of SE 275th
Way. The Neighborhood IS shown on the attached Exhibit.
E. On June 4, 2012, the Glenbrook Neighborhood submitted an
official registration form to request that the City recognize the Glenbrook
Neighborhood Council and to allow the Neighborhood to take part m the
City's Neighborhood Program.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Recognition of Nemhborhood Council. -The City
Council for the City of Kent hereby acknowledges the effort and
commitment of the Glenbrook neighborhood and all those who participated
in formmg the Glenbrook Neighborhood Council. The Kent City Council
hereby recogmzes Glenbrook Neighborhood Council as an off1c1al
Neighborhood Council of the City of Kent, supports Glenbrook
Neighborhood Council community building efforts, and confers on the
Glenbrook Neighborhood Council all opportunities offered by the City's
Neighborhood Program.
SECTION 2. -Severability. If any section, subsect1on, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of this resolution is declared unconstitutional or
invalid for any reason, such decis1on shall not affect the val1d1ty of the
remaming port1ons of this resolution.
SECTION 3. -Ratification. Any act consistent w1th the authority
and prior to the effect1ve date of th1s resolution IS hereby rat1f1ed and
aff1rmed.

SECTION 4. -Effect1ve Date. This resolut1on shall take effect and
be in force Immediately upon 1ts passage.
