Kent Firs Neighborhood Council

A RESOLUTION of the city council of the
city of Kent, Washington, recognizing the Kenton
Firs Neighborhood Council.
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has developed a Neighborhood Program to
promote and sustain an environment that responds to residents by bu1ldmg
partnerships between the City and 1ts residents. In addition, the City of
Kent encourages residents to work together to form geographically d1stmct
neighborhood counc1ls as a means to foster communication among
res1dents and to enhance their sense of community.
B. The City of Kent recogmzes and supports neighborhood
councils by endorsmg a process to establish neighborhood boundanes,
approve neighborhood councils, and prov1de neighborhood grant matching
program opportunities to make Improvements in defined neighborhoods.
C. The Kenton Firs neighborhood cons1sts of one hundred and
forty-six households occupying md1v1dually-owned lots for manufactured
homes. The residents belong to the Kenton F1rs Neighborhood Association
and are bound by 1ts covenants.

D. The Kenton Firs Neighborhood is located on the East Hill and came
1nto the City as part of the Panther Lake annexation area. The
Neighborhood is shown on Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated
herem. It is legally described 1n Volume 94 of Plats at pages 18 and 19 of
the Records of Kmg County, Washmgton. The northernmost street 1s S.E.
226th Street w1th Neighborhood homes on the north and south s1de of the
street. It IS bounded on the east by 116th Avenue S.E. w1th Neighborhood
homes on both s1des of the street.
E. On October 14, 2010, the Kenton Firs Neighborhood submitted an
official reg1strat1on form to request that the City recogmze the Kenton F1rs
Neighborhood Council and to allow the Neighborhood to take part 1n the
City's Neighborhood Program.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Recognition of Neighborhood Council. -The City
Council for the City of Kent hereby acknowledges the effort and
commitment of the Kenton F1rs neighborhood and all those who
part1c1pated in formmg the Kenton F1rs Neighborhood Council. The Kent
City Council hereby recogmzes Kenton F1rs as an off1c1al Neighborhood
Council of the City of Kent, supports Kenton Firs commun1ty buildmg
efforts, and confers on the Kenton F1rs Neighborhood Council all
opportunities offered by the City's Neighborhood Program.
SECTION 2. -Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of th1s resolution IS declared unconst1tut1onal or
invalid for any reason, such dec1s1on shall not affect the val1d1ty of the
remammg portions of th1s resolution.

SECTION 3. -Ratification. Any act consistent w1th the authonty
and pnor to the effective date of th1s resolution is hereby ratified and
aff1rmed.
SECTION 4. -Effectwe Date. This resolut1on shall take effect and
be 1n force 1mmed1ately upon 1ts passage.
