A RESOLUTION of the City of Kent, Washmgton,
providing for appomtment of members of the board of
directors of the City of Kent SpeCial Events Center PubliC
Facilities D1stnct, and determmmg the length of the
Initial terms of those board members.
RECITALS
A. Pursuant to Chapter 35.57 RCW, by Ordinance No. 3852, the City of
Kent ("the City") created the City of Kent SpeCial Events Center Publ1c Facilities
D1stnct, w1th boundanes coextens1ve w1th the boundanes of the City, for the
purpose of ass1stmg m the fmancing of a reg1onal center compnsed of a multi·
purpose arena for hockey and other public uses, together w1th related parking
facilities.
B. Under RCW 35.57.020(3)(a), a public facilitieS d1stnct created by a
city is governed by a board of directors consisting of five members appointed by
the City council, mcludmg three members appointed based on recommendations
rece1ved from vanous types of local orgamzat1ons spec1f1ed m that statute.
C. RCW 35.57 020(3)(a) prov1des that the members of the board of
directors of a public facilities d1stnct shall serve four-year terms, except that of the
Initial members, one must be appomted for a one-year term, one for a two-year
term, one for a three-year term, and two for a four-year term.
D. As required by RCW 35.57.030(a), the City Council solic1ted
recommendations from vanous local organ1zat1ons, and has determmed to appoint
the members of the Board of D1rectors of the City of Kent Spec1al Events Center
Public Facilities D1stnct.

THEREFORE, THE CI1Y COUNCIL OF THE CI1Y OF KENT, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -The followrng persons are appornted to the Board of
Drrectors of the City of Kent Specral Events Center Public Facrlrtres Drstrrct, for the
rnrtral terms rndrcated below:

The effectrve date of the apporntment of the Drrectors named above shall be
September 4, 2007, and the annrversary date of therr apporntment shall be
September 1 of each year. In accordance wrth applrcable State law, each Drrector
shall serve untrl the end of hrs or her term, but shall contrnue to serve thereafter
untrl a replacement Drrector has been appornted.
