RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION of the City council of the ctty of
Kent, Washmgton, recogn1z1ng the Greenfield Park
Neighborhood Counctl.
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has developed a Neighborhood Program to promote
and sustam an envtronment that responds to restdents by butldmg partnershtps
between the City and 1ts restdents. In add1t1on, the City of Kent encourages
restdents to work together to form geographically dtstmct neighborhood counctls
as a means to foster commun1cat1on among restdents and to enhance thetr sense
of communtty.
B. The Ctty of Kent recogmzes and supports netghborhood counctls by
endorsmg a process to establish neighborhood boundanes, approve neighborhood
counctls, and provtde neighborhood grant matchmg program opportun1t1es to make
Improvements m deftned netghborhoods.
C. The Greenfield Park netghborhood cons1sts of approximately 26
houstng untts and IS bounded to the north by property owned by Ktng County and
tdenttfted as tax parcel number 2822049203, to the east by 28th Avenue South, to
the south by South 270th Street, and to the west by the Secoma Ht-Way Trs Plat
recorded under Kmg County Recordmg No. 7682800155. On May 19, 2007, the
Greenfteld Park neighborhood completed and turned 1n an offtetal regtstratton form
requestmg that the City recogntze the Greenfteld Park Netghborhood Counctl,
allowmg 1t to take advantage of all the opportun1t1es offered by the City's
Neighborhood Program, tncludmg the City's grant matchmg program.

NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Recoqmtion of Netqhborhood Council. -The City Council for
the City of Kent hereby acknowledges the effort and comm1tment of the Greenfield
Park neighborhood and all those who partiCipated 1n formmg the Greenfield Park
Neighborhood Council. The Kent City Council hereby recogn1zes Greenfield Park as
an off1c1al Neighborhood Council of the City of Kent, supports Greenfield Park's
commun1ty bu1ldmg efforts, and confers on the Greenfield Park Neighborhood
Council all opportun1t1es offered by the City's Neighborhood Program.
SECTION 2. -Severabtltty. If any sect1on, subsect1on, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of th1s resolut1on 1s declared unconst1tut1onal or mval1d
for any reason, such dec1s1on shall not affect the val1d1ty of the remammg port1ons
of th1s resolut1on.
SECTION 3. -Rattf'!cat10n. Any act cons1stent w1th the authonty and pnor
to the effect1ve date of th1s resolution IS hereby rat1f1ed and affirmed.
SECTION 4. -Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect and be m
force 1mmed1ately upon 1ts passage.
