A RESOLUTION of the City council of the c1ty of
Kent, Washington, recogn1zmg the Salt A1r Hills
Neighborhood Council.
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has developed a Neighborhood Program to promote
and sustam an environment that responds to residents by bulidmg partnerships
between the City and 1ts residents. In add1t1on, the City of Kent encourages
residents to work together to form geographically d1st1nct neighborhood counc1ls
as a means to foster commun1cat1on among res1dents and to enhance the1r sense
of commun1ty.
B. The City of Kent recogmzes and supports neighborhood counc1ls by
endorsmg a process to establ1sh neighborhood boundanes, approve neighborhood
counc1ls, and prov1de neighborhood grant matchmg program opportun1t1es to make
improvements m defmed neighborhoods.
C. The Salt A1r H1lls neighborhood, wh1ch IS bounded to the north by
South 248th Street, to the east by Pac1f1c H1ghway South, to the south by S. 252"d
Street, and to the west by 20th Avenue South, cons1sts of 196 housmg umts. On
October 18, 2006, the Salt A1r H1lls neighborhood completed and turned m an
off1c1al reg1strat1on form requestmg that the City recogn1ze the Salt A1r Hills
Neighborhood Counc1l, allow1ng 1t to take advantage of all the opportun1t1es offered
by the City's Neighborhood Program, mcludmg the City's grant matchmg program.

NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -RecognitiOn of Neighborhood Council. -The City Counctl for
the Ctty of Kent hereby acknowledges the effort and commttment of the Salt Atr
Htlls netghborhood and all those who parttctpated tn formtng the Salt Atr Htlls
Netghborhood Counctl. The Kent Ctty Counctl hereby recogntzes Salt Atr Htlls as an
offtctal Netghborhood Counctl of the Ctty of Kent, supports Salt Atr Htlls' communtty
butldtng efforts, and confers on the Salt Atr Htlls Netghborhood Counctl all
opportuntttes offered by the Ctty's Netghborhood Program.
SECTION 2. -Severability. If any sectton, subsectton, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase of thts resolutton ts declared unconstttuttonal or tnvaltd
for any reason, such dectston shall not affect the valtdtty of the remamtng porttons
of thts resolutiOn.
SECTION 3. -Ratification. Any act conststent wtth the authonty and pnor
to the effecttve date of thts resolutton ts hereby rattfted and afftrmed.
SECTION 4. -EffectiVe Date. Thts resolutton shall take effect and be tn
force tmmedtately upon tts passage.
