RESOLUTION NO. /7 ~ ;A
A RESOLUTION of the C1ty Council of the C1ty of
Kent, Washington, authonz1ng application to the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreat1on (lAC) for
state funding ass1stance for an Washington Wildlife and
Recreation Program ("WWRP") program as provided 1n Ch
79 105 150 RCW
RECITALS
A. The City of Kent has approved a comprehensive plan that includes the
Riverview Park development proJect
B. Under the provisions of the WWRP program, state funding assistance
has been requested to a1d 1n financing the development cost of the R1verv1ew Park
area.
C. The City of Kent considers it in the best public interest to complete the
development project descnbed in the application 1n order to develop the R1verv1ew
Park area.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.

RESOLUTION
SECTION 1. -Appltcation. The C1ty's director of Parks, Recreation, and
Commumty Serv1ces 1s authonzed to make formal application to lAC for funding
ass1stance
SECTION 2. -Use of Funds. Any funding assistance received will be used for
the 1mplementat1on of the proJect referenced above, wh1ch 1s the development of the
R1verv1ew Park area
SECTION 3. -Non-cash Commitments The City of Kent acknowledges that it
is responsible for support1ng all non-cash commitments to the sponsor share should
they not matenalize.
SECTION 4. -Use Retained in Perpetuity. The City of Kent acknowledges that
any property acqUired or facility developed w1th lAC financial a1d must be placed in use
as an outdoor recreat1on facility and be retamed 1n such use 1n perpetu1ty unless
otherw1se provided and agreed to by the C1ty of Kent and lAC.
SECTION 5. -Resolution -Part of Application. This resolution may become
part of a formal application to lAC.
SECTION 6. -Public Comment. The City of Kent provided opportunity for
public comment on this application at a Parks Committee public meetmg on February
16, 2006.
SECTION 7. -Severability If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence,
clause or phrase of th1s resolution is declared unconst1tut1onal or 1nvalid for any
reason, such dec1S1on shall not affect the valid1ty of the remaming port1ons of this
resolution

SECTION 8. -Rattfication. Any act consistent w1th the authonty and pnor to
the effect1ve date of this resolut1on 1s hereby rat1f1ed and affirmed
SECTION 9. -Effective Date. Th1s resolution shall take effect and be 1n force
1mmed1ately upon 1ts passage
