ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, relating to streets; amending KCC
10.06.04, 10.06.08 and 10.06.12 relating to
parking; amending KCC 10.26.20 relating to one
way streets (Ordinances 1972, 2219 and 2303).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DOES
1 HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. KCC

10.06.04 is amended as follows:

10.06.04. NO PARKING ZONES. At such time as the Traffic
�� Engineer shall place the appropriate sign or signs, it shall be
d 6 illegal to park any motor or other vehicle at any time on the
following roadways or portions thereof:

'Avenue):

(1) East Valley Highway (84th Avenue South and Central
from the Green River to South 192nd Street (both sides).
(2) Meeker Street:
(a) From Fourth Avenue to the West Valley Highway
(both sides),
(b) From a point seventy feet west of Russell Road
to a point eight hundred six feet west of
Russell Road (north side only);
(3) Smith Street: from Lincoln Avenue
to Jason Avenue (both sides);
(4) Fourth Avenue: from Willis Street to South 228th
Street (both sides);
(5) Kent-Kangley Road: from S.E. 256th Street to ((a
gelet-€ett-l�t�e�ed-slaty-deet-west-ef-98th)) the centerline of
116th Avenue S.E. (((seuth)) both sides ((ealy)));
(6) East Gowe Street: from a point two hundred thirty
feet east of the centerline of State Avenue to East Titus Street
(both sides);
(7) SR99 (Pacific Highway South): from a point one
thousand six hundred thirty feet south of the intersection of
South 240th Street to the intersection of South 240th Street (east
side only);
(8) Pioneer Street: from one hundred seventy feet west
of the centerline of State Avenue to the centerline of State
,Avenue (south side only);
(9) East Titus Street:
(a) From East Gowe Street to a point one hundred
twenty feet southwest to the centerline of
Reiten Road (southeast side only),
(b) From a point one hundred twenty feet southwest
of the centerline of Reiten Road to Smith
Street (both sides);
(10) 30th Avenue South: from Kent -Des Moines Road to
South 240th Street (west side only);
(11) South 240th Street:
(a) From 30th Avenue South to Pacific Highway South
(north side only),
(b) From 27th Avenue South to Pacific Highway South
(south side only);
(12) 104th Avenue S.E. (Benson Road or SR 515): from a
point one hundred feet north of the intersection of S.E. 236th
Place to a point six hundred fifty-nine feet south of the inter-
section of James Street (South 240th Street --both sides);
(13) West Cloudy Street: from North 5th Avenue (both
sides);
(14) Trailer or semi -trailer parking: Upon any City
street, if the vehicle is a trailer or semi -trailer, unless the
trailer or semi -trailer is attached to a vehicle by which it may
be propelled or drawn; provided, that in case of accident such
trailer or semi -trailer may be moved to the side of the street,
and, if a good and sufficient red signal be displayed at both ends
thereof during the hours of darkness, such trailer or semi -trailer
may be permitted or allowed to remain for a period not exceeding
twenty-four hours pending removal; except that such trailer or
semi -trailer shall not remain upon any portion of a City street
where standing or parking is limited or prohibited for a period
longer than is necessary to effect its removal.
(15) Lincoln Avenue from Smith Street to Meeker Street
(both sides).
Section 2. KCC 10.06.08 is amended as follows:
10.06.08. TWO-HOUR PARKING ZONES. At such times as the
Traffic Engineer shall place the appropriate sign or signs, it
shall be illegal to park any motor or other vehicle for an
uninterrupted period in excess of two hours between the hours of
nine a.m. and six p.m. on the following roadways or portions
thereof:
Harrison Street (Fourth Avenue - Second Avenue)
Meeker Street (Fourth Avenue - State Avenue)
Gowe Street (Fourth Avenue - State Avenue)
Titus Street (Second Avenue - First Avenue)
First Avenue (from a point two hundred feet north
of Meeker Street - Titus Street)
Second Avenue (((Hase)) Smith Street - Titus

Railroad Avenue (Smith Street - Meeker Street, east
side only)
(Meeker Street Gowe
Street)
State Avenue (Smith Street - ((Gewe)) Meeker

;Provided that this Section shall not apply on Sundays or holidays.
Section 3. KCC 10.06.12 is amended as follows:
10.06.12. FIFTEEN -MINUTE PARKING ZONES. At such times
as the Traffic Engineer shall place the appropriate sign or signs,
it shall be illegal to park any motor or other vehicle for an
uninterrupted period in excess of fifteen minutes at the following
location:
Gowe Street: First two parking stalls east of
Fourth Avenue, south side. ((A11

Fourth Avenue: Marked stalls between Gowe Street
and Titus Street, east side, located
off the traveled roadway.
Section 4. KCC 10.06.20 is amended as follows:
10.06.20. ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS. Upon those
streets and parts of streets, and in those alleys hereinafter in
this Section described, vehicular traffic shall move only in the
indicated direction when signs indicating the direction of traffic
are erected and maintained at every intersection where movement in
the opposite direction is prohibited.

Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force five (5) days from and after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
