AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent providing for the appointment of the City Attorney WHEREAS, Section 2 of Chapter 365, of the Sgssion Laws of 955 of the State of Washington (R.C.W.35.24.020) provides that he City Council of the third class cities may enact an ordinance roviding for the appointment of the City Attorney by the Mayor; nd WHEREAS, it is deemed for the best interests of the City of t that the office of the City Attorney be filled by appointment reafter, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT DO ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. That, commencing with the expiration of the present term of the City Attorney of the City of Kent, as is provided for in the Session Laws of the State of Washington for 1959 , the Cityc,AtbOrney of the City of Kent shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by a majority vote of the Council of the City of Kent. Such appointment must be in writing, signed by the Mayor, and filed with the City Clerk. Section 2. The elective incumbent City Attorney shall serve for the remainder of his unexpired term, notwithstanding any appointment made pursuant to this ordinance. Section 3.
