3 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washington
establishing the City of Kent, Washington, as a
4 non -charter code cit

6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kent, Washington
7 duly passed Resolution No. 646 at its regular Council meeting on
8
August 18, 1969 declaring its intention to change the classification
Of said City from that of a City of the Third Class
8 non -charter code city; and to that of a
10 WHEREAS, within ten (10) days thereafter said resolution
11
was duly published in the manner required by law and more than
ninety (90) days have elapsed since the date of first publication
12 thereof; and
13 WHEREAS, no referendum petition has been filed with
14 respect to such resolution, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON DO
15 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS;
16 Section 1. Notwithstanding anything contained in the
17
Ordinances of the City of Kent, Washington to the contrary, the
City of Kent, Washington hereby adopts the classification
18 non -charter code city operating under the concept of aseven member
19 City Council plus a Mayor plan of government as set forth in
20
Chapter 35 A.12 of the Revised Code of Washington endowed with al
the applicable rights, 1
