STREET, City Administrator DAVE MC QUERY,Chief of Police THOMAS FOSTER, Fire Chief MARIE JENSEN, City Clerk GLEN W. SHERWOOD, Engineer JOHN B. BEREITER, City Attorney BARNEY WILSON, Recreation Director CITY CLERK NOV 2 01969 RECEIVED I herewith veto and return, without my signature, to you for further consideration, Kent City Ordinance No. 1620, passed by the Kent City Council on November 17, 1969, which calls for the Minimum Housing Code, Volume III, Uniform Building Code, 1967 Edition, to be adopted. I take this action for the reason that I do not feel that the penalty provisions thereof and costs to our Kent Citizens, especially our elderly and low income Citizens, have been fully studied and understood. I further feel that adoption of that Code is of sufficient long range importance to all Kent Citizens so that all the newly elected Kent City Council Members should have a chance to familiarize themselves with it and thereafter join with their fellow Kent City Council Members in voting whether or not to adopt this Code.
