HomeMy WebLinkAbout1602i flfl VCS O E238 1 ORDINANCE 2 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washing- ton, vacating certain real property abutting 3 upon a City street or alley within the City Limits of the City of Kent. .t3 4 NX WHEREAS, the owners of more than two-thirds of the following 5 Wdescribed real property, located in the City of Kent, King County, v, 6 State of Washington, and which is more fully described hereafter, 7 have petitioned the Cent City Council to vacate said real property; 8 and 9 WHEREAS, thereafter, the Kent City Council did, by motion, 10 fix a time when said Petition would be heard and determined by the 11 Kent City Council -or a committee thereof, to -wit: Monday, May 12 19, 1969, at the hour of 3:00 O'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers 13 of the City mall of the City of Kent, Washington; and 14 WHEREAS, after the passage of said motion, the City Clerk 15 of -the City of Kent gave twenty (20) days notice of the pendency 16 of said Petition bV a written notice posted in three of the most 17 public places in the City of Kent and a like notice in a conspic- 18 uous place on the street or alley sought to be vacated; said notice 19 containing the information required therein by the Laws of the State 20 of Washington and the Ordinances of the City of Kent; and 21 WHEREAS, the Kent City Engineer has processed said Petition 22 and secured the technical facts pertinent to the question of 23 said vacation which includes a sketch of the proposed vacation and 24 also written approval or rejection thereof by the water, sewer 25 and street departments of the City of Kent; and 26 WHEREAS, thereafter said Petition, along with said technical 27 information, was referred to the Planning Commission of the City 28 of Kent for consideration at its next regular meeting; said 29 Planning Commission recommending fav orably on said Petition; and 30 WHEREAS, thereafter the hearing on said Petition was held 31 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Kent at 32 _-1- YQi 81 PAGE ,23.9 1 3:00 O'clock P.M. on the 19th day of May, 1969, and it appearing 2 further that the reason for this street vacation is that the 3 platters, Randall Park Division #1, are going to dedicate an alter - 4 nate street without charge, and it appearing further that the 5 granting of said Petition for the vacation of said real property 6 will not be a menace or inconvenience to the traveling public or 7 to any other persons using the streets and alleys of the City 8 of I:ent, Washington, 8 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASH - 10 INGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 11 Section 1. The following described real property, which 12 abuts upon a City street or alley within the City of Kent, Wash - 13 ington, and which is more fully described herewith: 14 That portion of the STiV 1/4 of the N[hT 1/4 in 15 Section 27, T22N, R 4E., W.M., in King County, Washington defined as follows: A strip of 16 land 60 feet in width the center line defined as follows: Beginning at the NW corner of Lot 17 1, Block 4, in Kentwood Hills 01 as recorded in Volume 64 of Plats, pages 62 and 63, records of 18 King County, Washington; th N 88°42'07" W 30 feet to the East line of said subdivision; th 18 N 0°58'28" E along the East line of said sub- division 206.29 feet to the True Point of Beginn- 20 ing of center line herein described; th continuing N 0°58'28" E along said line to the South line of 21 South 260th St. as deeded by Auditor's File No. 1725146, records of King County, Washington being 22 the terminus of line herein described. 23 is hereby vacated and will hereafter belong to the abutting 24 property owners one-half (1/2) to each. 25 Section 2. No vested rights shall be affected by the pro - 26 visions of this Ordinance. 27 Section 3.
