ORDINANCE NO.
2 AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, changing the office of Kent City
3 Treasurer from an elective to an appointive
position, upon the effective date of this
4 Ordinance pursuant to the Laws of the State
of Washington.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO

ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. On the effective date of this Ordinance, the
8
office of Kent City Treasurer shall be changed from an elective
8 pursuant to RCW 35.24.020 (Chapter
office to an appointive office, p

116, Laws of 1969).

Section 2. Upon the effective date of this Ordinance,
12 y g appoint -

Mayor of the Cit of Kent, Washington, may remove the app
13
ive Kent City Treasurer by notifying such person, in writing, and
14
filed with the City Clerk of such removal.

Section 3. Upon the removal of the existing appointive
16
Kent City Treasurer by the Mayor, as provided in Section 2 of
17 this Ordinance, the Mayor may then appoint a Kent City Treasurer,
16
which appointment shall be subject to confirmation by a majority
18 vote of the Kent City Council, and which appointive City Treasur-
20
er shall thereafter serve at the
pleasure of the Mayor and may be
21
removed by. the Mayor, in writing,
signed by the Mayor and filed
22
with the City Clerk.

Section 4. Except as
herein provided, all other Kent
24
City Ordinance pertaining to the
Office of the Kent City Treasur-
25
er shall remain in full force and effect.

Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be
27
