® AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent,
Washington, amending Section 3 of Kent City
3 Ordinance No. 1566 (January, 1969) regarding
collection and payment of assessment roll
4 of Local Improvement District No. 256.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
6 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
7 Section 1. Section 3 of Kent City Ordinance No. 1566
8 (January, 1969), which reads as follows:
9 "Section 3. The assessment roll as approved
and confirmed shall be filed with the Treasurer
10 of the City of Kent for collection, and the City
Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to
11 publish notice as required by law stating that
the roll is in his hands for collection and pay -
12 ment of any assessment thereon or any portion of
that assessment can be made at any time within
13 thirty days from the date of the first publica-
tion of the notice without penalty, interest or
14 cost, and that thereafter the sum remaining
unpaid may be paid in ten equal annual install -
15 ments with interest thereon hereby fixed at not
to exceed the rate of 6 1/2o per annum. The
16 first installment of assessments on the assess-
ment roll shall become due and payable during the
17 thirty -day period succeeding the date one year
after the date of first publication by the City
18 Treasurer of notice that the assessment roll is
in his hands for collection and annually thereafter
19 each succeeding installment shall become due and
payable in like manner. If the whole or any portion
20 of the assessments remains unpaid after the first
21 thirty -day period, interest upon the whole unpaid
sum shall be charged at the rate not to exceed of
22 6 1/2o per annum and each year thereafter one of the
installments, together with interest due on the
23 whole unpaid balance, shall be collected. Any
installment not paid prior to the expiration of
24 the thirty -day period during which such irEtallment
is due and payable shall thereupon become delinquent.
25 All delinquent installments shall be subject to a
charge for interest not to exceed 6 1/2o per annum
26 and for any additional charge of 6% penalty levied
upon both principal and interest due upon such
installment or installments. The collection of
27 such delinquent ins-tallments will be enforced in
28 the manner provided by law."
29 is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
