1 ORDINANCE NO. - i
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washing-
ton, amending Section 1 of Kent City Ordinance
1483 (October, 1967) to extend the amount of
non -civil service accumulated sick leave to
4 ninety (9'0) days; and amending Section 6 of
Kent City ordinance 1483 (October, 1967) to
5 change the definition of a "fulltime employee"
and to define the eligibility of an employee
6 for participation in the City of Kent's vacation,
sick leave, health and accident or life insurance
7 programs.
8 l THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
9 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
10 I Section 1. Section 1 of Kent City Ordinance 1483 (oct-

11 1 ober, 1967), -which reads as follows:
12 111.32.04 Amount of Time. Each fulltime City
Employee who has completed six months continuance
13 service with the) ity of Kent shall be entitled to
j not more than six (6) days of sick leave; any full -
14 time employee of the City of Kent who has completed
one year continuance service with the City shall
15 be entitled to a period of not more than 12 days
of sick leave and an additional period of six days
16 shall be granted to each fulltime employee for
each additional six months of continuance service
17 with the City, but any such accumulated period of
sick leave shall in no event exceed 60 days."

19 is hereby amended to read as follows:
20 111.32.04 It is hereby declared that sick leave for non -
civil service City Employees is a privilege and not a right and

shall be accumulated at the rate of one day per month of employ -
23 meet as a regular fulltime employee and may accumulate to 90 days.'
Section 2. Section 6 of Kent City Ordinance 1483 (Oct -

25 ober, 1967) which reads as follows:
111.32.24 Fulltime employee defined. A "fulltime
26 employee" of the City is defined as one who is
27 1 employed at least 35 hours a week by the City of Kent."

shall not be eligible for participation in the City's vacation,
sick leave, health and accident or life insurance programs. 'I
Section 3. In the event of any conflict between the
provisions of this Ordinance and the provisions of the Ordinances
of the City of Kent covering Kent's civil service regulations, or
the provisions of a duly ratified contract between the City of
Kent and a Union, the said civil service regulations or Union
contract provisions shall prevail.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five (5 ) days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provide lay.
