AN ORDINANCE of the City of Kent, Washing-
ton, amending sub -section (2) of Section 7 of
Kent City Ordinance 1483 (October, 1967) re-
garding excusable absences for City employees.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Section 7 of Kent City ordinance 1483 (Oct -

ober, 1967)5 which reads as follows:

"1.32.28 Excusable Absences. Sick leave benefits as
9 provided for in this Chapter are to be used only in the
event of absence due to the following causes:

11(1) Illness of employee;
11 "(2) Illness or death in the immediate family requir-
ing the employee's presence. 'Immediate Family'
12 shall be limited to the employee's spouse,
children, mother, father, mother-in-law, or
13 father-in-law, brother or sister;
11(3) Medical or dental appointments which it can be
14 scheduled only during working hours.
15 is hereby amended to read as follows:
16 111.32.28 Excusable Absences. Sick leave benefits
17 as provided for in this Chapter are to be used only in the

20 "(2) Illness or death in the immediate family, requiring
21 : the employee's presence. 'Immediate Family' shall be limited to

23 11 father-in-law, or brother or sister. Upon proper request, further

24 j leave of absence may be granted .for the purpose of attendance at

25(' a funeral, but such leave shall be deducted from the employee's
26 accumulated sick leave.
27 i 11(3) Medical or dental appointments which can be
28 scheduled only during office hours."
29 Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
