AN ORDINANCE, of the City of Kent, Wash-
ington, making it illegal to park vehicles
at all times on Central Avenue, from James
Street to Titus Street and on East Smith
Street from Central Avenue to Jason Street
within the City of Kent, Washington, and
which streets form a part of the State of
Washington highway system; directing the
City Engineer to obtain the ratification and
approval of said actions from the Washington
State Highway Commission; ordering the City
Traffic Engineer to supervise the placement
of appropriate (No Parking Anytime) signs
on said streets; and imposing penalties and
fines for vitiation of the terms of this Ord-
inance.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Upon the effective date of this Ordinance
it shall be illegal to park motor or other vehicles on the
following streets at any time, said streets which are located
within the City Limits of the City of Kent, Washington, and which
.form a part of the Washington State Highway system; to -wit:
Central Avenue from James Street to Titus Street
East Smith Street from Central Avenue to Jason Street.
Section 2. The City Traffic Engineer is herewith direct
ed to obtain from the Washington State Highway Commission said
Commission's approval and ratification of the terms of this
Ordinance as required by RCW 47.24.020 of the Laws of the State
of Washington.
Section 3. Upon the effective date of this Ordinance,
the City's Traffic Engineer shall supervise the placement of
appropriate "No Parking Anytime" sites on said streets.
Section 4. Penalties. Violation of the terms of this
Ordinance shall be those as set forth in Kent City Ordinance
8.848 1952 (codified as Chapter 8.34 of the Ordinances of the
City of Kent, Washington).
Section 5. Effective date. This Ordinance shall take
effect and be in force from and after its passage, approval and

publication as provided by law and once a copy of a communication
approving the terms hereof from the Washington State Highway
Commission is filed herewith in the office of the Kent City
Clerk.

City of Kent, SR 167 and
SR 516, parking restrictions
During its regular meeting on February 17, 1969, the State Highway Commis ion
approved the following parking restrictions on the routes of state higi_ways
within the corporate limits of the City of Kent, in accordance with Ordinance
No. 1558 adopted by the City of Kent on December 17, 1968:
State Route 167
-- Parking prohibited on both sides of Central Avenue (SR 167) from
the intersection with Titus Street,'MP 12.70, northerly to the
intersection with James Street, MP 13.18, a distance of 0.48 mile.
State Route 516
Parking prohibited on both sides of SR 516 from the intersection
of I4eeker Street with Central Avenue, A!P 5.56, northerly along;
c'etl___ tr.3�Av-2nuc to the intersection with Smith Street, 11F 5.68
thence easterly along Smith Street to the in -e section with Jason
Avenue at MP 5.93, a d s ance o 0.37 mile.
